Lesson 29: Existing Policies

Your club or sporting organisation should have existing policies and procedures regarding child safe environments and child abuse. Are you familiar with them? Do you know how to find them?

To find out what policies and procedures your club or sporting organisation has in place, you can:

• look up the sporting organisation or club website
• speak to a committee member
• speak to either the member protection officer or child protection officer at your club/organisation.
• If you’ve done all that and you still can’t find a clear policy relating to child safety … What will you do about it?
